Academic background:

Ph.D Entomology from Indian Agricultural Research Institute

M.Sc Entomology from Indian Agricultural Research Institute

B.Sc (Agri) from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University

Research interests and current focus

Integrated management of cashew stem borer through prophylactic and curative methods. Management of tea mosquito bugs through augmentation of predatory ants Oecophylla smaragdina. Biodiversity studies of major insect pests and their natural enemies in the coastal ecosystem.

Outreach and extension

I attend the field problems related to identification insect pests and their causes. The exact management practices are recommended to farmers and other stakeholders. Awareness campaign has been organized for the management of cashew insect pests. Prophylactic and curative management aspects of cashew stem and root borer has been demonstrated with active involvement of farming community. Plant protection advisories are recommended to farmers and other stakeholders.
