Jyeshta: Shimalo (Red silk cotton tree)

Shimalo is found everywhere in India. Leaves, flowers, fruits, bark, roots, seeds and gum possess various medicinal properties (Vandana and Chaudhary, 2017). It is used to treat STDs, menstrual abnormalities and Abortifacient, antibacterial, diuretic, and antioxidant, anti pyretic and analgesic activity. Consumption of filtered juice of leaves purifies the blood. Leucorrhoea can be cured by taking root powder twice a day. The bark paste is applied on the wounds. The powder of dried flower is used as tonic for weakness.
