Training and Education Center, of ICAR – IVRI, Pune in collaboration with ICAR-CCARI, Goa has organised Interface meeting of scientists with Veterinary Officers of Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Goa, Veterinary Officers of Goa state co-operative milk producers Union, Ponda and progressive farmers at ICAR-CCARI on 30-31st August 2018. The program was attended by Dr. Santosh Desai, Direcor, Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Goa, Dr. E.B. Chakurkar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa, Dr. Mahesh Chander, Joitn Director (Extension Education), I.V.R.I, Bareilly, Dr. K.N, Bhlegaonkar, Staion Incharge, Training and Education Center, of ICAR – IVRI, Pune, Dr. A.K. Verma, Head, Division of Animal Nutrition, I.V.R.I. Bareilly, Dr. H.P. Aithal, Principal Scientist, Training and Education Center, of ICAR – IVRI, Pune. The program was also attended by volunteers from different Goshalas of Sekeri, Valopi and Dhyan foundation. Dr. Santosh Desai described the challenges and scope of animal husbandry sector in Goa. Dr. E.B. Chakurkar, stressed on continuing education of veterinarians to keep them updated on recent developments in the field of veterinary field to serve the farmers in a better way. Dr. K.N. Bhilegaonkar elaborated on technologies and health services provided by ICAR-IVRI in the field of animal health and production. Dr. Mahesh Chander described the importance of organic farming and standards related to organic animal husbandry. Dr. A.K. Verma enlightened the participants on animal nutrition technologies developed by ICAR-IVRI. Dr. H.P. Aithal presented recent advances in veterinary surgery. Dr. Chethan Kumar proposed the vote of thanks. Later in the day the live demonstration of epoxy based external skeleton fixation of hind limb fracture in a calf in Sekeri, Goshala for the benefit of the veterinarians.
