Inauguration of Soil Testing Laboratory at Gogate Jogalekar College, Ratnagiri by The Director, ICAR – CCARI
Considering the importance of the soil testing and need to increase the infrastructure for attending the higher number of soil samples, an initiative of establishing a Soil Testing Laboratory was taken by Gogate Jogalekar College, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. The Soil Testing Laboratory was inaugurate by Dr. E. B. Chakurkar, Director (A), ICAR – CCARI, Old Goa, Goa on 28th February 2017 on the day of observing National Science Day. On the occasion, the presented a scenario of the coastal agriculture and apprised the officials of the College and student about different technologies developed by ICAR – CCARI, Old Goa. Dr. G. R. Mahajan, Scientist (Soil Science) also presented the importance of soil testing in agriculture. Further, a discussions were also held to establish collaboration the both the Institutions are working for the farming communities in west coast region of India.
