Inauguration of Institute Crèche

 

                A crèche facility was created and inaugurated at the Institute on 23.09.19. The Ministry of Labour and Employment has notified the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017, mandating that every establishment with 50 or employees shall have a crèche facility. In this regard, the Ministry of Women and Child Development has formulated the National Minimum Guidelines for setting up and running of Crèches under the said Act. In order to execute this, Director constituted a committee comprising of Dr. S.Priya Devi, PS (Horticulture), Dr Mathala J Gupta, Scientist (AS&PE), Ms. Madina Solapuri, STO (Civil Engg.), Ms. Lizette Noronha, PS and Ms. M Rita D Silva, AAO (Estt).

    Based on the prescribed guidelines, the committee has selected an appropriate vacant quarter depending upon the applications received. All required repair, modifications and fresh painting were done and the quarter was furnished with cots, beds, curtains, linens, microwave oven, induction stove, washing machine, refrigerator, geyser, television set, children friendly furniture, toys etc. All required toiletries and sanitary items, related consumables, kitchen utensils etc were also purchased.

    This facility was inaugurated by Dr. Narendra Pratap Singh, Former Director, National Institute of Abiotic Stress Management, Baramati, Maharashtra. The inauguration was facilitated by Administrative officer of the Institute. All staff were invited for the event and sweets were distributed. The children will be taken care of by the Crèche caretaker and a house keeper. This facility will be a very essential service rendered to the Institute staff at a nominal cost.
