Celebration of Constitution Day on 26th November, 2019

 

ICAR-CCARI, Goa  celebrated  the Indian Constitution Day or Samvidhan Divas on  26th November, 2019 to commemorate the 70th year  of  the adoption  of the  Constitution of India and to honour and acknowledge the  contribution of the Founding  Fathers  of the Constitution.  An awareness campaign  focused on Citizens’ Duties including Fundamental Duties as enshrined  in the Indian Constitution will be carried out  throughout the year. 

 At the start of the Campaign, the  Administrative Officer  read the  ‘Preamble’ to the Constitution  to all the Staff Members in the Conference Hall of the Institute at 11.00 AM on 26th November, 2019.  

 Dr. E. B. Chakurkar, Director (A) of the Institute emphasized  that the  Constitution of India is the supreme law of India. The Republic is governed in terms of the Constitution of India which was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 26th November, 1949 and came into force on 26th January, 1950.  The document lays down the framework demarcating fundamental political code, structure, procedures, powers, and duties of government institutions and sets out fundamental rights, directive principles, and the duties of citizens.

A Banner  regarding the Indian Constitution Day or Samvidhan Divas has been displayed in the Conference Hall,   at the place  where the Preamble  was read out.  Constitution Day Standee, Posters, Quotations of National Personalities  and Quotations  of International Personalities have been  displayed  at  the entrance of the Institute Building .   Soft Copy of Constitution Day Posters, Photos of making of the Constitution have been displayed on the digital Notice Board of the Institute.  Soft copy of brochure  has been  mailed to  all the Staff Members.
