ICAR- CCARI Participated in National Celebration of International Day for Biological Diversity at Kala Academy, Panaji-Goa
The exhibition was organized On 22nd -23rd May 2017 at Kala Academy, Panaji-Goa as part of Celebration of International Day for Biological diversity 2017
This event was inaugurated by Honorable Chief Minister of Goa Shri. Manohar Parrikar. ICAR- CCARI Participated in the event by installing a stall at the exhibition site. The stall was visited by chief guest Honorable Chief Minister of Goa Shri. Manohar Parrikar and Dr. Eaknath .B.Chakurkar (Director), explained about cashew varieties and Paddy varieties released by the institute for state of Goa.
Technical officers from ICAR CCARI Goa- Shri. Rahul M. Kulkarni (Sr. Tech. Officer - NRM) and Shri. Siddharth Marathe (Tech. Officer PME) explained the various exhibits of the Institute along with the posters. Approximately 1000 farmers across the state visited the ICAR-CCARI stall. The visitors seeked the information on newly released varieties of Rice and Cashew and also gathered the information about the Biodiversity amongst Mango, Kokam, Cashew and Jackfruit. The value added products such as Cashew apple crunch, Nutmeg taffy, Nutmeg mouth freshner, Cashew apple syrup and Nutmeg pericarp syrup attracted the visitors. Some of the important publications of the Institute were also displayed.
