Jagjivan Ram Abhinav Kisan Puruskar awardee Felicitation programme    

 On 16 July, 2020, Shri Vinod Gopal Barve, progressive farmers from Sattari, North Goa was awarded prestigious Jagjivan Ram Abhinav Kisan Puruskar under Zonal category for Zone VIII. This award was declared by Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Hon’ble Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare during 92^nd Foundation Day and Award Ceremony of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi on 16^th July, 2020. On the same day in evening ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra-North Goa organized a felicitation ceremony for Shri Barve.  The programme started with welcome address by Dr. Monica S. Singh, SMS (Ag. Extn) followed by brief introduction of Shri Barve by Shri HRC Prabhu, SMS (Plant Protection). It was followed by special address by Dr. K. L. Kasinath, Senior Scientist and Head in which he congratulated Shri Barve and highlighted innovative approaches undertaken by him. Later Dr. E. B. Charkurkar, Director, ICAR-CCARI felicitated Shri Barve by giving him shreephal, shawl and momento. Shri Barve in his address told about his experience in farming and the valuable lesson learned through it. He also thanked ICAR-CCARI and KVK-North Goa for their technical expertise and efforts through which he was able to receive this award. Dr. E.B Chakurkar in his addresses congratulated Shri Barve and appreciated his efforts in farming. He also urged Shri Barve to continue his good work in field of farming. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Smt. Sunetra Talaulikar, SMS (Home Science).
