Description

This species is characterised by thick lips and a prominent forehead hump. Juveniles pale greenish with elongate dark spots on scales tending to form long bars. There are 2 black lines posteriorly from eye.

Diet

This species feeds on a variety of food items like mollusks, finfishes, sea urchins, crustaceans and other invertebrates

It is popular as a game fish and aquarium fish
