Description
This lion fish species is characterised by the presence of reddish to brownish body and 5-6 broad dark bars on body separated by pale lines. Horizontal dark area on caudal peduncle. There is no markings between rays of pelvic fin and it possesses has a pair of horizontal white stripes at base of its tail.

Feeds on crabs, shrimps and small fishes
