Description

This species is characterised by slender and elongated body. The dorsal fin is with 4-5 spines followed by another spine and 25-29 soft rays. There are no scuted on the lateral line and caudal peduncle with well developed fleshy keels. Body dark to pale bluish, with 6-7 broad, dark bars and white tips on caudal fin lobes

Feeds on small fishes and invertebrates

Marketed in fresh form and also used as an aquarium fish
