Description

This species is characterized by typical fusiform, elongated and compressed body, signle dorsal fin, small mouth without teeth. There are four branchiostegal rays. The colour of the body olive green with silver coloured flanks

Feeds on diatoms, blue green algae, small invertebrates and fish eggs
